Well maybe not yet, but over the last few months it has been apparent that Google is continually changing the face of the SERPS with their Google places listings.

When the large scale changed happened several months ago, Google decided to implement a map on the right, and then change the way they display the places listings in the results. If Google inserted places listings, they still always displayed 10 regular results as well.

I have noticed now however that they are now testing pages with less regular results and more places results. This may only be something that Google is testing but it may be a sign that the places results will take over the first page.

The example i looked at was a search term with ‘in London’ on the end, google displayed 5 regular listings and 8 places listings.

What this means is if you are a location based service, ensure your google places listings are in order.
